An individual who contaminated sweets with tranquilliser and provided them to minors at a youth camp in Leicestershire has confessed to sexual crimes against two young males aged nine and 10.
Jon Ruben was detained after eight children and one adult fell ill at the location in mid-summer.
The 76-year-old, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, pleaded guilty to a series of 17 offences when he appeared at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he disputed one particular crime he was accused of, which was involving a young boy.
Ruben was remanded in custody before a further hearing on 28 November.
'Sweet game'
The legal representative, handling the case, described the defendant's actions to the legal proceedings.
She said his victims were under-privileged children who were staying at a summer program which he managed.
Ruben engaged in a "sweet game" with the minors, the prosecutor said, in which he would access the sleeping quarters when they were preparing to sleep and ask them to eat sweets "as quickly as they can".
She stated to the judge the man had played this game with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had earlier experienced illness the following morning.
She stated Ruben had been capable of justifying this repeatedly as the youngsters being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepson had worries in recently.
Mrs Prior KC stated further: "In the summer" his stepson had suspicions about the activities, for good reason.
"They resolved" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor stated items including baby oil, Vaseline and medical needles were discovered, and his stepchild contacted the authorities about his suspicions.
She explained Ruben continued to conduct the "candy game" with six children that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the following morning.
"The police had not gone out by that stage," she continued.
The oversight body, the investigative body, previously told that it was examining the police response of the situation.
The legal representative said the youngsters were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the stepson notified the police again.
She said the defendant then engaged in the "candy game" in a room of five children.
